"Hadd hai, bhai" -- One on disgust sensitivity
As the talk by the famous scientist ended, we came out of the Tata Auditorium and went on to grab some refreshments -- a brownie, a samosa, chai, ketchup, etc. At one point, a friend of mine was stunned/ surprised to see me do something that she might have seen as too weird or disgusting. "Vinod, what was that!?". Another friend standing next to us, who missed the scene, exclaimed, "I would have puked had I seen him do that." And that's when I realized (or I was reminded) what's so normal and okay for me to eat isn't the same for most people around me. What did I do? I, not so mindfully, dipped a corner of brownie in the ketchup and went on to eat it as if there was nothing off/ wrong/weird about it.
